We saw the beautiful full moon last Saturday at Montpellier. In Japan, we consider the full moon in September the most beautiful in a year, so viewing the full moon in autumn is one of the popular customs for Japanese. We decorate the miscanthus as it is regarded as a holly plante in Japan, and offer the small mochi cakes that represent the full moon when we appreciate the full moon in this season.

I was inspired by this Japanese custom and created the ikebana work with using the pampas grass instead of the miscanthus. The yellow marigold can be a symbol of the full moon.
