I created an ikebana work for New Year this week. I used the pine, the bamboo, the ilex as the symbolic flowers for New Year in Japan, and also I chose the mimosa and the mistletoe for the iconic french flowers at this season. I wish you all the Happy New Year!

I created un ikebana work for the Christmas this week. I challenged to express the Christmas mood with tropical flowers which are not usually used for the decoration at this season. I realized that it is possible to create the Christmas ambiance with these flowers as well. I wish you all the Merry Christmas!

It was the last lesson today this year. We practiced the ikebana work for the New Year. Each vegetal material symbolize something like longevity, promotion, and lucky charm as the creation for the New Year should be special and elegant. It’s considered as the mass of auspicious elements. I wish you all a Merry Christmas
